1870's RARE Something Blue Paste Earrings
An incredible pair of earrings circa 1870. Done with expertly made silver settings looped in abstract curls and baubles. Each paste stone is set beautifully, with the center stone featuring an open back so the light shines through. Dotted with seed pearls and matching paste stones with custom settings to fit each one perfectly (reminiscent of Georgian jewelry.) Tests for silver and are LARGE with original victorian ear wires. In 12 years of selling many Victorian earrings I have never come across a pair like this! Pairs well with anything from a flowing wedding gown to an evening dress for an event.
Measurements are as follows:
Length: 2"
Width at widest: .75"
Condition: Excellent – The piece shows typical, although minor, signs of wear. Minor patina and signs of age (including slight warmth to clear paste at bottom which is typical for backed paste.) Overall in just beautiful shape with all original components.
